The Independence House was constructed in honor of Nigeria's Independece from Britain October 1st 1960. Many Nigerians do not know anything about this 25 Storey Edifice located south west of Tafawa Balewa Square Complex (formally called Race Course) in Lagos Island. Constructed by the outgoing British Colonian Government from 1959-1961, and housed many of the government offices at the dawn of Independence. It's last occupant was the Ministry of Defence before moving to Abuja

Lagos is the commercial capital of Nigeria. It is the largest city in Nigeria and in Africa. Lagos was the formal administrative capital of Nigera.This sprawling city is inhabited by a diverse population of about 18 million people. All 250 tribes of Nigeria are represented in Lagos.
